SATURDAY REFLECTIONS

I love weekends.

Saturdays start early as I scurry from coffee to shower, to ready myself for breakfast with special friends.  We usually meet 3 Saturdays a month in homes and the remaining Saturdays at a neighborhood restaurant where we've been enjoying breakfasts for over 30 years.  The food is always wonderful.  Our resident cooks, Karen, Kathy, Kay and Susan provide a variety of favorites with plenty of hot coffee.  Conversation is lively and laughter can be heard from room to room.  Breakfast is followed by a short devotional message with conversation starters on keeping with the subject.  We take turns sharing devotions and prayers.

Yesterday was especially meaningful as women who have known each other for 10 to 20+ years shared personal stories of "waiting" and the results of that waiting.  What an encouragement to hear how God has moved in the lives of women who mean so much to me.  How grateful I am that the Lord has brought us together to walk together on our life journeys.

During our devotion we looked at Isaiah 40: 29-31

"Do you not know?  Have you not heard? The Lord, the everlasting God, the  Creator of the whole earth never grows faint or weary; there is no limit to His understanding.  He gives strength to the weary and strength to the powerless.  Youth may faint and grow weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles;  they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint."

Thank you Lord for my dear sisters in Christ who shared how this Word was lived out in their lives.

Are you part of a group of that loves and encourages you?

It's my prayer!

Love you,

Judy
