GOD'S WORD FOR TODAY

It's Sunday....and in the quiet of the new day I find myself lingering over Psalm 139.
I read the familiar words and once more my heart swells with love for the God who loved me, loved you, so much that He left us a love letter that reveals Himself to those who believe.
In this particular Psalm God's presence in the life of every human being is defined. He, Almighty God, the author of LIFE.  We see letters on the page from David's heart :

1 Lord, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I stand up; You understand my thoughts from far away.
3 You observe my travels and my rest; You are aware of all my ways.
4 Before a word is on my tongue, You know all about it, Lord.
5 You have encircled me; You have placed Your hand on me.
6 This extraordinary knowledge is beyond me. It is lofty; I am unable to reach it.
These verses come down hard on my heart.  If God searched David. if God knew David; knew when David would sit down and when he would stand up; understood David's thoughts no matter where he was; THEN the same is true for me.
He has searched me, knows me,  knows if I'm sitting or standing and understands my every thought, wherever I am!  What was true about God in David's day is true today.  He sees me when I move about day to day and when I pause to rest.  God is aware of everything I do.  God knows what I'm going to say before I say it.  God is before me and behind me; I'm safe in His hand.
David called this too extraordinary to comprehend.  I feel the same.
Amazing God displaying His amazing grace.
I plan to keep poring over these verses and others in this psalm for the next 30 days.  My goal is to know my God better with each passing day.
I'd love company on this 30 day journey.  Are you in???  If so leave me a message below or on my facebook wall.
Sending you His love today,
Judy

  1. Like you, my desire also is to know Him better each passing day...to love Him more tomorrow than I do today...to trust Him more tomorrow than I do today...to abide in Him more tomorrow than I do today.
