The Lifter of My Head

Last week Holley asked us to think back to another time when we took a positive action in our our lives.  Asking "What’s one thing that helped you move forward that you could apply again now and someone else could benefit from hearing too?  Write a post about it and link it back to her.

Two years ago the Lord made it very clear to me that I needed to step down from my leadership position in the ministry that He had called me to ten years prior. A year or so before that He led me to start a blog.  To write about Him and His Word, that others might be drawn to Him.  It was difficult.

My guy Ron and I had been dealing with his and hers health issues and though I had skin lymphoma there haven't been any recurrences and my arthritis had become manageable.  My call was to become intentional in my relationships: Jesus, Ron, my family, those he's placed in my life to encourage and be encouraged by, and to write about what I learn as I move forward as God's girl.

And then my attention deficit blew into my resolve and it has been  a journey to keep my bearings.

The only way I am able to move forward when my day starts to spin, when others are affected by my distractibility, when I hear lies in my head shouting "You can't do this", is to run (and I mean run) to the arms of Jesus and rest in His Word.  I take my "whys" and my "hows" to the One who knows me inside and out.  He is the one who leads me to His particular verses for whatever is rocking my world at the moment and the rocking slows to allow me to focus on what is True and Real.  Then my breathing is easier.

I find myself rounding a bend and being called over the bridge of comfort to a vast meadow of unknown possibilities.

And once again I hear my Savior call.....this way, my daughter, this way......and once again I reach up to take His mighty hand.

And you dear sister dreamer.....He is waiting for you, yes you.  Waiting on you to take His hand.

Until next week, in His love,
Judy

  2. Judy,
I had to search you out to see what you had to say as last week your comment to me was such a blessing. I guess being older amidst all these young women was a connection. I too know about health issues and the hurdles they can present. I am so thankful that you are here in this group and you have found that running to the outstretched arms of our Father is the safety like none other. I pray you have a marvelous week.
