The birds outside my Study window have begun choir practice earlier than usual. The chirping section is in fine voice - the youngest exercising their tweets with every vocal muscle they can muster.
Now nearly silence then a lone warbler seems to be calling to me alone –
“Good morning…rise and shine; another chimes in : “open your eyes – open your heart – God IS in control.” and so again, today, I am “Up With The Birds”.
I picture my feathered friends in my mind – the smaller ones in their nest, others perched on branches. All keeping watch on the roof tops and the humans down below. My heart sings.
I love how the birds are mentioned by the Lord in the scriptures to illustrate that we can trust Him.
Let’s listen in -
Psalm 104:12 ESV
Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches.
Psalm 6:25-27 ESV
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?”
Psalm 17:7-9 NASB
Wondrously show Your lovingkindness,
O Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand
From those who rise up against them.
Keep me as the apple of the eye;
Hide me in the shadow of Your wings from the wicked who despoil me,
My deadly enemies who surround me.
O Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand
From those who rise up against them.
Keep me as the apple of the eye;
Hide me in the shadow of Your wings from the wicked who despoil me,
My deadly enemies who surround me.
Psalm 61:3-5 NASB
For You have been a refuge for me,
A tower of strength against the enemy.
Let me dwell in Your tent forever;
Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings.
A tower of strength against the enemy.
Let me dwell in Your tent forever;
Let me take refuge in the shelter of Your wings.
For You have heard my vows, O God;
You have given me the inheritance of those who fear Your name
You have given me the inheritance of those who fear Your name
Isaiah 40:31 ESV
But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Just praising the Lord!!!
Praising with you sister!!
